For over fifteen years, Al Khor International School (AKIS) has been delivering education as a co-educational establishment, offering the National Curriculum of England and the CBSE Curriculum of India.
AKIS educates over 4,000 culturally and ethnically diverse students representing over forty different nationalities. Aged between four and eighteen, students are taught across five buildings, by a dedicated and skilled team of almost 600 staff in academic and support roles. The British Curriculum is taught from Nursery to Year 13 and the CBSE Curriculum of India, from KG1 to Grade 12.
Owned by RasGas and Qatargas – two of the largest natural gas-producing companies in the world, AKIS caters primarily to the children of their employees. It is licensed by the Ministry of Education - Higher Education (formerly the Supreme Education Council (SEC)), and fully complies with its resolutions and the laws of the State of Qatar.
